When did you start fly fishing? I started fly fishing when I was six years old, primarily on the Texas coast. I also started fishing the Rio Grande Valley as a kid, where I really developed my passion for angling.
Guide experience: I have been guiding since 2016, mostly in the Rio Grande basin, with a few seasons on the Big Thompson River and the alpine lakes near Estes Park.

When did you start fly fishing? I started fly fishing around 8 years old. It was only when backpacking with my dad or uncle that I got to use a fly rod. Late high school and early college is when I really started thinking about taking fly fishing to the next level and helping others learn the sport.
Guide experience: I am in my 7th year of guiding now and I got my start on the Upper Rio Grande River. From the headwaters to Del Norte is where my 70 mile office is located in the Spring and Summer. I head South in the fall and guide the Animas River and San Juan River after the Rio is wrapped up.
Wade or float guide: Both. I spend much more time in my 16’ Clacka than on my feet but I am not shy about strapping on the boots.

When did you start fly fishing? I started fly fishing the upper Rio Grande basin at Broadacres Ranch in 1973
Guide experience: I joined the military in 1985 and was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I started guiding for a private ranch on the South Platte River that same year. In 2000 I moved to Creede, Colorado, and became the head guide for Broadacres Ranch. At that time, they were an Orvis-endorsed fly fishing destination. I guided there for almost ten years, then went to the Rio Grande Angler and have guided for them ever since. I have had the pleasure of going around the world 3 1/2 times and fished in some very exotic places, some courtesy of the military, places like Saudi Arabia, England, Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, Korea, and Honduras. I am also a very big fan of saltwater flyfishing. In my spare time, I also do filming for Sportsman’s news television, hunting and fishing.
